ENCOURAGING LAUGHTER ACROSS AMERICA
With two years after the tragic event of 9-11, Fiestas del Llano, Inc. agreed with the message of many national officials that encouraged Americans not to live in fear, but rather take pride in the democratic freedom of the United States. A year ago, festival organizers decided to turn this tragic memory of tears into, a memorable echo of children’s laughter with an event exclusively for children living in local homes.
Two years later, board members sigh as they recall the heartfelt decision, to continue its historical observance of the Mexican revolution of 1810, which was due to social and economic injustice that had plagued Mexico from the beginning of Spanish domination, as a symbolic gesture. As a statement not to let the terrorist attacks on the U.S. affect the normalcy, many attended the festival and proudly paid tribute to the victims of that surreal day.
Children from Buckner’s Children Home, the Boy’s Ranch, Lubbock State School, and many others will be the VIP guest of Fiestas del Llano, Inc. and Starlite Amusement, in this exclusive evening to be held, Wednesyda Sept. 10th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A moment of silence will be held to honor those who died innocently by the acts of cowardice against America. But after, the festival will kick-off its celebration by encouraging the laughter of children, in hope that the amusement will send an even stronger gesture of hope!
