9/7/2003 - Scholarship pageant to assist in higher education

The 2003 Miss Hispanic Lubbock Scholarship Pageant, formerly, the Miss Fiestas del Llano Pageant, will be held Friday, September 12, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. in the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center Theatre. The pageant, which is held in conjunction with the 16th of September holiday, is a tradition, which allows college bound young women to learn about more about culture, as well as seek a higher education.

Seven young women will compete for an opportunity of a lifetime. They will strive for awards totaling $10,000; to be used at Texas Tech University.

Tickets can through Select-a-Seat at 770-2000 $5.50 for adults and $3.50 for children. Tickets may also be purchased at the door.
