6/4/2003 - Annual festival now accepting food vendor applications

SENSATIONAL SCENTS AND FLAVORS
Annual festival now accepting food vendor applications

Over the past few years “Fiestas Patrias”, an event produced by Fiestas del Llano Inc., has flourished, and continues to grow, leading it to become one of the most recognizably known festivals in West Texas. The annual festival draws thousands of people daily, and features food, games, cultural activities, and live music stages.
Although many are drawn by the entertainment, festival organizers agreed that the sensational scents and flavors of traditional cuisine only found at a festival such as this, was also one of the main reasons people attend. The festival encourages vendors to provide an extensive array of Mexican food, and traditional carnival foods.

Food vendors are determined on a first come-first serve basis. Because only a limited number of vendors are allowed to sale a certain food item, new food vendors are being encouraged to pick up applications now.

Participating food vendors will pay an affordable booth space, and a processing fee for the four-day event, which will be held September 11 – 14,2003. Information packets including the application may be picked up through August 15, at Juarez Bail Bond, located at 1105 Main Street.

The 16th of September holiday, a community wide event, allows Lubbock residents to embrace the Hispanic culture and participate in the celebration.
