Today more then ever voting is important and a privilege that every American citizen is given. Your vote is translated into expression of your views and beliefs. Voting is structured to allow people to cast their votes, be counted, and help determine how winners are decided.
Unfortunately, many registered voters are not voting. Even more unfortunate are those who have never registered to vote. This is why Hispanic Agenda, a coalition of Hispanic organizations and elected officials, encourage you to take the time to vote and be counted.
Remember, voting is important because it determines who is elected, which voters are represented, and ultimately who runs our local, state, and federal legislatures. Who is elected directly affects what kinds of policies are passed and who benefits or suffers from those policies. Therefore, remember that your vote is your voice and that your voice matters.
If you would like to pick up a voter registration card visit the County Court House or City Hall, or go by your closest library. These cards can even be found at most participating grocers and convenient stores. And, remember the cut off date for the March 9th election is February 8th, 2004, so act quickly, so that your voice will be heard.
For your convenience, the coalition of Hispanic Agenda encourages you to use the following date and location information to simplify your voting time:
