DEADLINE APPROACHING FOR SPRING INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

IN CORNYN’S WASHINGTON AND TEXAS OFFICES

Application deadline: October 31

WASHINGTON – Applications for the Spring internship program in U.S. Sen. Cornyn’s Washington, D.C. and Texas offices continue to arrive, and he wants to make sure that all Texas college students interested in participating have the opportunity to apply. The application deadline is October 31.

“I encourage all eligible students interested in government and public service to apply for the internship program in my office,” Cornyn said. “This internship is a great way for young people to learn firsthand how the Senate and federal government work and will prove to be an experience that will last a lifetime.”

Interns work closely with all aspects of the Senate office operations. They also have the opportunity to attend seminars, lectures and Congressional hearings.

All Texas undergraduate students are encouraged to apply for the internship. Candidates must have graduated from high school, completed at least one semester of college classes, and have at least one semester of course work remaining before they obtain their undergraduate degree.

For internships in Sen. Cornyn’s Washington or Texas offices, interested students should contact Brad Jackson at 202-224-2934. For more information or to download an application, visit Sen. Cornyn’s website at http://cornyn.senate.gov/internships.html.
